Panel Discussion November,

"What is Team Teaching?", on Teusday, November 6, a panel discussion on the theme was held
chaired by Professor Toshiko Marks at the International House of Japan. At present,over 6,000
young poeple from abroad are working under the JET programme as Assistant Language Teachers.
JET programme(Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme) started in 1987. Although the pro-
gramme has already been declared a success according to surveys of the related organization,
almost no concrete assessment has been done. Professor Marks started the discussion by explain-
ing the present staus of the programme. After that, three panelists, all in active in Enflish
education in schools, spoke passionately about their own experiences.
