ESUJ Debate 2006
English Debate Competition for Adults
Adult English language debate-enthusiasm for it continues to spread and grow. Again this year, people who understand the importance of being able to communicate in English as a social stratagem are turning out for this “intelligent” holiday event. The charm of the competition is that it provides an opportunity to get up from behind your desk and use the nerve and tact you’ve been cultivating in spontaneous debate with other adults.
This year, 13 teams have applied to join the competition, the largest number so far. Participants will include businessmen (and women!), high school teachers of English, and non-Japanese, in the newly renovated and reopened premises of the International House of Japan in Roppongi. Please come! (free of charge; no need to apply)
