ESUJ Lecture ( in English )
Auction Ins and Outs
by Mr. John L. Tancock
Senior Vice President, Sotheby's
It is said that an auction occurs once a week
somewhere in Japan nowadays. Auctions are wonderfully exciting.
Members of the audience make bids, with the encouragement
of an auctioneer, until the hammer falls and the item for
sale goes to the highest bidder. Having dealt with auctioneering
for many years at world famous Sotheby's Auction House,
Mr John L. Tancock will speak to us on the charm of auctioneering.
He will also initiate us into how to buy wisely at an auction.
Please join us in the new year for this entertaining evening
of allure.
