Visit to Edo-Tokyo Open
Air Architectural Museum
Located in leafy Musashino, the Edo-Tokyo
Open Air Architectural Museum (Edo-Tokyo Tatemono-en) is
the nostalgic new home for relics of historical and cultural
interest. Buildings of significant cultural merit, including
many from the beginning of the modern era, are gathered
here. Folklore and living customs are exhibited in the buildings,
bringing back to life various aspects of living and business
conditions of former times.
If we are lucky, the renowned cherry trees
of Koganei Park, where the Museum is located, will be in
bloom. Be sure to bring a picnic lunch if the weather is
good, to enjoy under the trees. Hope for good weather, and
join us in making this an expedition to remember.
