Ambassador's Lecture Series No. 8
Turkey: Bridge between East and West
Lecture by HE Mrs. Salmaz Unaydin, Turkish Ambassador to Japan
| Turkey, a land with a great history
and magnificent culture, located at the meeting point
of the three continents of Africa, Asia, and Europe; in
a crucial position for major international political problems
including the strife between Palestine and Israel, in
Iraq, and among the Kurds; also facing potentially difficult
negotiations over its participation in an expanded European
Union. Straddling the Bosporus Strait, at the junction
between the Orient and Occident, Turkey is a nation that
is enormously popular with many Japanese. There are also
many fans of Japan in Turkey. This talk by the outstanding
and charming Ambassador Unaydin, speaking about her country
from many different angles, is a 'must'! |
