The museum was established by Mr Tohru Toguri, a
successful businessman who wished to preserve forever
and make widely available to the public his extensive
art collection, consisting mainly of ceramic wares
which he had gathered over a period of many years.
The museum opened on November 21, 1987. As a museum
specializing in antique ceramic wares, it is held
in high regard not only in Japan but throughout
the world. |
