ESUJ Lecture in English
Historical Who Done It?
-Mysterious Deaths of Two Dutchmen, Henry Heusken and Gijsbert Hemmij-
Lecture by Mr Geoffrey Tudor
PR Advisor, Japan Airlines
Why did Sakamoto Ryoma wear shoes instead of geta? Was it murder when the Director of the Dutch East India Company's trading post at Nagasaki, Gijsbert Hemmij, died in the Kakegawa inn where he was staying on his way back to Nagasaki from Edo?
Mr Geoffrey Tudor, PR Advisor, Japan Airlines, has lived in Japan for more than 30 years. An expert on the trajectory of foreigners active in Japan from the end of the Warring States Period to the close of the Edo Era, starting with Miura Anjin, Tudor-sensei will regale us with tale after tale of historical mysteries full of interest. A lecture not to be missed.
