Ambassador's Lecture Series No. 12

A View of Venezuela
--Japan and Venezuela: Mutual Understanding and Shared Future--

Lecture by Mr. Seiko Luis Ishikawa Kobayashi,

Ambassador of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Japan

For our speaker in the ESUJ Ambassador's Lecture Series, we will welcome for the first time an ambassador from a South American country. The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is situated on the northern coast of the continent and is about 2.5 times as large as Japan. Known as one of the world's leading oil-producing countries, it is also called a "Land of beautiful women" and is a tropical paradise blessed with bountiful nature and much variety from the Caribbean Sea to the Andes Mountains and the Plain of Guyana. A personal appointee of the country's renowned President Chavez with high expectations for the youthful ambassador, currently active second-generation Japanese-Venezuelan Ambassador Ishikawa will speak in English about various aspects of his country. Don't fail to miss his lecture!
